Developmental editing is the only editing service I offer. So, what is a developmental edit? You can ask 20 editors, and they’ll each have their own description.
Here's my definition:
Address technical components like spelling, grammar, punctuation, capitalization, sentence structure, proper conventions of sentence mechanics;
Rework sentences and paragraphs, correcting awkward phrasing, syntax issues (sentence variety and structure), repetition, showing vs. telling, best word choices, passive verb elimination, suitable dialogue, clichés, anachronisms, and more; and
Ask questions, leave comments, and make suggestions in the margin.
My only focus is working with you to create the absolute best content or book possible.
